College Work and Apprenticeships

- Help with college/training/apprenticeship applications by supporting writing the applications and finding out what is expected
- Help with educational interviews including being accompanied to an interview and interview preparation or support for any following steps to gaining a placement
- Support with finding and attending Open days or Jobs fairs
- Support in Personal Education Plans (PEPs); attending PEPs to ensure we know what is expected from you and what support may be required from Active Minds to help you achieve results or attendance improvements
- Links to job opportunities via the Virtual School, including apprenticeship; receiving regular updates on job opportunities exclusively for Looked After Children which include apprenticeships
- Voluntary work support: advice on filling in applications, support sourcing placements, support for your interview and support to manage your placement
- Support to gain bursaries or avoid exclusion; we will get what is entitled to you and support in attending educational meetings
- Course work support: help with homework with ongoing one to one sessions all person centred and communicating with teachers/tutors, particular for any extra support needed e.g. support with dyslexia etc. or other supporting organisations
- Enrichment days: Active Minds in the past have managed to gain tickets for football, rugby, ice hockey, basketball at heavily discounted prices or free (not guaranteed). Also, we can support in residentials when possible.
